What is Thai Foot Reflexology?
Bodywork from Thailand is taking the United States by storm! The latest to reach our shores is
Thai Foot Reflexology, a marriage between the ancient healing arts of Reflexology, Chinese
Tuina, Japanese Shiatsu and Indian ayurvedic yoga. Thai Foot Reflexology is offered either
on a massage table or chair, and is easy and fun to learn. Working with the feet, lower leg
and knees, this 2,000 year old, highly reputed session frees up blocked energy within the
body’s many sens lines (Thai- based meridians) to produce a deep and unique feeling of
balance, relaxation and well-being.
Thai Foot Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumbs and fingers to stimulate nerve endings in the foot, hands and ears. Its basic philosophy is that the foot, hands and ears each hold reflex areas that mirror and connect to all parts of the body. Nerve ending stimulation helps to eliminate energy blockages to different parts of the body, including organs and glands. These energy blockages are thought to produce pain or disease in the related areas and by moving energy, or ‘chi’, through the body the results can be quite profound.
72,000 nerves find their way to the feet! Thai foot reflexolgy stimulates and activates the whole body. Reflex pressure points, gentle stretches and manipulation with oil application.
What to Expect?
During a typical Thai Foot Massage session a Thai practitioner will apply a special Thai balm and use a variety of hands-on techniques including graceful two handed palm movements, stretches, circular massage movements and thumb pressure along with the use of a special Thai stick made out of teak for specific acupressure to stimulate organ reflex points on the soles of the feet. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed, balanced and invigorated.

To receive this Thai Foot Reflexology massage according to tradition, it is important to be comfortably seated with the feet resting on a footstool.
A mix of creme and oils are progressively applied on the feet and legs for a duration of an hour.
When we are aware that our feet support 100% of our body weight and that 7000 steps on average are inflicted upon them daily... we owe them the respect that they deserve!
